The PMS National Director Addressed Rectors of Major and Minor Seminaries of Nigeria during their meeting in Jos. The Pontifical Mission Society of St. Peter the Apostle promotes prayer and support for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life. Nigeria has the highest number of Seminaries in Africa. Since 1922, the Pontifical Mission Societies have been the official missionary arm of the Catholic Church. The Four Pontifical Mission Societies have been given the responsibility by the Pope (hence the name ‘Pontifical’) to support the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the work of charity and social improvement around the world. The societies promote awareness, prayer, sacrifice and fundraising to support worldwide Catholic mission.
